Tracking time
Start a timer when you start work, or add hours you've already worked.
App or web
- 1.On Home, tap “Start timer”, pick the client, and optionally say what you're working on. Or tap “Start timer” on a client's screen. On the web, “Start timer” is at the top of every dashboard page.
- 2.The clock keeps running if you close the app or the tab. When you're done, tap “Stop timer” (“Stop” on the web), or “Discard” if it shouldn't count.
- 3.Worked without the timer? On the client's screen, tap “Add time”, pick the day (up to a week back) and say how long, like 1:30, 1.5 hours or 45 minutes.
Good to know
- One timer runs at a time, wherever it was started: one started on your phone shows on the web too, and starting another stops the first. Stop it on the web and the app catches up within half a minute, or pull down on Home to refresh.
- Home lists what you've logged “Today”, “Yesterday” or “This week”, with the total for each.
- On Android, a running timer also shows in your notifications, with the clock, Stop and Open. If you swipe it away, it comes back the next time you open the app.
- Time can't be edited yet. To fix an entry, delete it from the client's “Logged time” (tap it in the app, or the bin on the web) and add it again. Time that's already on an invoice can't be deleted.
